The South Carolina Bar’s Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Division will host a seminar designed to equip attorneys with essential tools and guidance for launching or enhancing their federal practice. Course planners Beattie Ashmore and U.S. District Judge Sherri Lydon have structured this seminar to provide an in-depth look at key elements of success in both criminal and civil cases.
This program offers practical insights for attorneys of all experience levels, covering crucial aspects of federal practice, from understanding the role of the clerk’s office and mastering the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and District of South Carolina Local Rules, to handling expert testimony, excelling in motions practice, building a comprehensive trial notebook, and utilizing AI and new technologies in federal court. Additional focus will be given to effective communication strategies with both juries and judges.
