There are more than 1.2 firearms per capita in the United States, which are designated into several different classes. Specific regulations and laws apply to the ownership, possession, use and transfer of firearms with potentially stiff penalties for violations. With respect to firearms, this two-hour presentation will prime attendees generally on the federal and South Carolina codes, offer methods of protection and transfer via estate planning documents, and outline best practices for handling and/or transfer in probate and guardianship/conservatorship actions
