The past eighteen months have brought about significant changes in how immigration laws are implemented. This presentation will explain the basics of immigration law and will explore how changes in policy can affect the attorney who does not practice immigration law.
About the Speaker
Charles A. Phipps is a solo practitioner practicing immigration law in Columbia, South Carolina. Mr. Phipps represents clients throughout South Carolina on the multiple issues that arise within the American immigration system. He regularly appears in the Immigration Court in Charlotte, North Carolina, on behalf of clients in removal proceedings. Mr. Phipps assists many clients with petitions and applications made to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service, such as applications for permanent resident status, naturalization, and asylum. Mr. Phipps also assists clients who need to process with U.S. consulates overseas, including the filing of waivers when required. Charles Phipps is a graduate of the George Washington University School of Law.
