The importance of drafting a clear, concise and comprehensive separation or divorce agreement cannot be understated. Why? Well-drafted agreements are much less likely to be the subject of future conflict due to ambiguity and/or lack of direction or guidance. They are easier to enforce, and much more likely to be honored. Finally, they are easier to understand and follow. All of these reasons mean that clients can save money, and are happier and less combative.
This seminar is designed to provide practical skills specific to the drafting of agreements and memoranda of understanding, as well as teach family law practitioners how to utilize a master form or outline to fully cover and organize issues in logical categories, then draft a comprehensive agreement or memorandum ready for signature.
As a bonus, we are pleased to present critical and brand new information on the upcoming statewide centralized child support system for payment and enforcement. The South Carolina Department of Social Services, in cooperation with the 46 county Clerks of Court, will begin implementing the new statewide automated child support system in October of 2018. The new system will introduce some process changes important to private attorneys, custodial and non-custodial parents. This segment will provide attendees with critical information on the impacts of the new automated systems on all parties.
These program topics will provide attendees with powerful and valuable skills, as well as key knowledge to advise and protect parties in the dissolution of their marriage and guiding them into the new child support system.
