About the Seminar
Human trafficking is a criminal enterprise that enslaves and exploits primarily children and women. This course will provide an overview of human trafficking laws and forms of trafficking. We will review the United Nations Palermo Protocol and the enactment of the Trafficking Victims Protection Act in 2000 and its subsequent amendments. We will evaluate federal human trafficking cases, including immigration, criminal, and other collateral trafficking matters. The course will further examine civil and criminal remedies for victims of trafficking.
