About the Seminar
Attorneys will be presented with power point (power point included) and will be able to view materials via same power point presentation analyzing certain risk management principals, including documentation, communication, ethical rules, and cyber issues. The program will conclude with practice management tips to further assist in avoiding ethical violations and resultant claims.
 
Discussion on the ABA Standing Committee on Lawyers' Professional Liability Study Profile of Legal Malpractice Claims 2012 - 2015 and Ames and Gough claims study. Attorneys will be instructed regarding what areas of practice, activities and type of errors generate claims.
 
Discussion of proper communication/documentation with the client, including appropriate retainer letter content. Discussion of Rule 1.4. Communications.
 
Discussion managing client expectations, properly screening clients, accounts receivable and contracts with vendors and co-counsel.
 
Discussion of conflicts of interest with Discussion of Rules 1.7. Conflict of Interest: Current Clients and 1.9 1.7. Conflict of Interest: Former Clients
 
Discussion of top ten risk management tips.
