About the Seminar
For Part 1 Join William “Bill” Sanderson, partner and co-chair of McGuireWoods' private wealth services group and a member of the firm’s fiduciary advisory services practice, to start the weekend’s workshop. For at least the last two decades, the federal wealth transfer tax has been in a state of continued – sometimes gradual, sometimes fast-paced - evolution. The first part of his presentation will review the landscape of federal legislation dealing with the estate and gift tax and address trends in recent cases, regulatory guidance, and administrative updates that have an impact on this area. Bill will also address trends in the fiduciary litigation practice through a review of recent cases. We are excited to welcome Bill back to South Carolina.
Part 2 will continue with two panel discussions before starting the taxation portion of the workshop, “A Litigator’s and Planner’s Perspectives of Complex Estate Litigation” and “Unintended Consequences of the Power of Attorney.”
