The
Legal Ethics and Practice Program
(LEAPP) is a collaborative effort between the Office of Disciplinary
Counsel to the Supreme Court of South Carolina and the Professional Responsibility
Committee and CLE Division of the South Carolina Bar. LEAPP is a four-part program that is held multiple times each year. LEAPP is a comprehensive exploration of the fundamentals of legal ethics designed for lawyers and other legal professionals at any career stage. The faculty includes knowledgeable and experienced members of the Bar who deal with various aspects of lawyer discipline cases and matters involving ethics, professionalism, and legal malpractice.
LEAPP Trust Account School is (3.8 hour) program covering mandatory accounting and recordkeeping requirements for client trust accounts. Participants and faculty discuss tools, techniques, and law office policies that can help the practitioner effectively avoid mistakes, misappropriation, and discipline. At the end of the program, participants have the opportunity to work through a monthly trust account reconciliation to test their knowledge.
This program qualifies for 3.8 MCLE; 3.8 LEPR
