Join Cindy Alvear for a very practical analysis of how Elder Law differs from traditional estate planning. In this presentation, you'll learn to perform a step-by-step process to determine if your client's needs are outside the scope of traditional estate planning. Cindy will provide an overview of VA benefits, Medicaid pre-planning or crisis planning, and Special Needs planning generationally. You'll learn what to do when your client needs expensive care. You'll get an overview of how state and federal government benefits work in South Carolina. You'll learn Medicaid basics - what is Medicaid, how does it work and who can qualify? And you'll learn about Irrevocable Trust planning for government benefit eligibility, including rules that dictate design, design options, pros and cons.
