The South Carolina Bar – CLE Division is proud to present the 2025 Al Todd Estate Planning Workshop at Kiawah Island Golf Resort. This advanced level program is designed for experienced estate planners and tax attorneys and is named in honor of workshop founder, Al Todd. 

New this year, the program will kick off on Thursday, July 10th with an optional golf outing early Thursday morning (foursomes) at Cougar Point Golf Course, with lunch and an ethics seminar beginning at 2p.m. You can choose from golf + lunch + seminar OR lunch + seminar. If you are taking part in the golf foursomes, we will reach out to you later about foursome groupings. If you would like to participate, you will need to register and pay separately, which you can do when you check out on the registration page.

The two-day workshop will open with a powerful presentation from Maurice Holloway on "Managing Closely Held Business Interests at Death." Special guest Tom Pauloski will offer insights on "The Truth about Life Insurance." Following our Friday luncheon Lexington attorney April Sampson will provide a very practical presentation entitled "A How-Top Guide to Wellness AKA How to Keep Your Sanity & Law License.  Friday’s programming concludes with our popular round tables discussions on current estate planning trends and topics.  

Saturday continues with two dynamic presentations. First, you'll hear from Shannon Elliotte on the "ABC’s of Trust Distributions - Tax & Non-Tax Considerations" followed by Practice42's Audrey Erhardt as she brings some take home helpful, practical tips, "Beyond the Documents and Building the Modern Law Firm: Real-World Law Practice Management, Systems, Staffing and Strategy for the Estate Planning Attorney." The 2025 Al Todd Institute will end with a continuation of our round table discussions.
