Electronic medical records (EMRs), artificial intelligence (AI), and e-prescriptions have revolutionized healthcare but present challenges for legal professionals. Each patient visit generates a unique record filled with shorthand, abbreviations, and inconsistencies across providers, complicated by complex regulations and varied digital formats. This seminar provides practical tools to retrieve, analyze, and interpret EMRs, understand Al's role in medical documentation, and address the complexities of e-prescriptions for effective case preparation and litigation. While these innovations have revolutionized healthcare, they create challenges for legal professionals due to shorthand, abbreviations, inconsistent formats, and complex regulations.

Sam Hodge's unmatched energy, graphic-intense format and entertaining delivery guide you to case clarifying sense as he shares productive tips regarding:

- "the nuances of medical records in view of federal and state mandates such as HIPAA, the
American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the Cures Act and Medicare

- "how to cut through red tape in obtaining medical records at a fraction of the costs
- "how health care providers maintain and organize records in the 21st Century especially in view of
electronic medical records and e-prescription initiatives

- "common medical phrases and abbreviations as well as the terms used in the writing of
prescriptions for medication and routes of drug administration

- "the intersection of medical and legal ethics
- "practice and litigation tips every step of the way with specific references to statutes, regulations,
court cases and medical record forms

- "the electronic medical chart and determining if the record has been altered or if material is missing.
