Join the Military and Veterans Law Section biannual CLE for a full day of instruction on issues affecting our veterans, military members, and their families. This CLE will offer instruction needed for accreditation with the VA. First, Doug Rosinski will provide us with insight informed by his decades of experience with the VA and what he has learned about the VA fiduciary program. Next, Kenny Dojaquez will provide useful information about the VA's Caregiver programs available for families who take care of their most severely disabled veterans. He will also discuss other benefits for family survivors in addition to the required topics for accreditation.

Turning to military matters, Major Amanda Beckham will provide insight into the Army's Office of Special Trial Counsel where she will explain its role concerning covered offenses under the UCMJ and making prosecutorial decisions that are independent from the military chains of command. Mary Fran Quindlen returns to give us her expansive experience in dealing with military and retirement pay in the family court. Mary Fran will address military divorce concerns starting with basic concepts, such as, what portion of military income can be calculated for child support and alimony up to more complicated matters, such as, the impact of a servicemember converting their CDRP to CRSC on the former spouse. She will discuss indemnification language, provide an overview of post-divorce benefits and more.

Finally, Lawyers Helping Lawyers will give us tips and resources to stay healthy and reasonably happy while juggling all of the many obligations we have in our field.

This seminar is an intermediate level program.

This program qualifies for ……6.0 MCLE; 1.0 SA/MH
