Live Webinar: L&L : Due Diligence for Lawyers: What You’re Required to Know About Your Clients
May 23, 2025
Throughout our lifetimes lawyers have had a duty of due diligence in accepting a matter and agreeing to represent or advise a client. This duty continues throughout the representation. ABA Formal Opinion 513 (2024) and the 2023 amendment of Model Rule of Professional Conduct 1.16 clarify the nature and scope of this requirement, explaining what facts and circumstances lawyers must inquire about and assess. This CLE will teach you what you must do.
This seminar is a Basic to Intermediate level program.
This program qualifies for 2.0 MCLE Credit Hours and up to 2.0 LEPR Credit Hours.
The South Carolina Bar is an accredited CLE provider in South Carolina only. Attorneys are responsible for seeking their own credit in other jurisdictions.
