Angela R. Taylor
Judge Angela R. Taylor was born in Tallahassee, Florida on July 19, 1958. She is the oldest daughter of Thomasina Hill Taylor, a retired registered nurse, and the late Arthur Robert Taylor who was a Presbyterian Minister. She has one sister, Deborah Joyce Taylor who works for the State of North Carolina.
Judge Taylor graduated from Sumter High School as an honor graduate in 1976. After graduating from high school, Judge Taylor attended the University of South Carolina where she majored in Government and International Studies. Upon completion of her undergraduate degree, Judge Taylor attended the University of South Carolina School of Law where she received her Juris Doctorate in 1983.
Judge Taylor was first employed as a Reginald Heber Smith Community Law Fellow at Three Rivers Legal Services in Lake City, Florida. She remained in Lake City for one year. She was then employed at the Neighborhood Legal Assistance Program in Conway, South Carolina from 1984 until 1985. In 1985, Judge Taylor was employed as the first full time Family Court Assistant Solicitor for the Third Judicial Circuit. In that capacity, she prosecuted juvenile cases in Sumter, Lee and Clarendon Counties. She was also responsible for the prosecution of child abuse and neglect cases for the Department of Social Services in those counties as well. Judge Taylor continued to serve as a full time Assistant Solicitor responsible for the juvenile prosecutions until 1987 when she changed her status to a part time juvenile prosecutor. She has continued to serve as a juvenile prosecutor from 1987 until present. Judge Taylor also served as the attorney for the Department of Social Services; first as a full time Assistant Solicitor and then as a contract attorney for the Department of Social Services until 2005. She worked as an associate in the Law Office of Larry C. Weston from 1987 until 1997. In 1997, she opened her own practice where she is a solo practitioner. In her practice, she handled primarily family law cases. Judge Taylor has been the recipient of several awards to include the Tribute to Women in Industry in 1987; the Compleat Lawyer Award in 1997; The American Society on the Abuse of Children, Legal Award in 2001 and The James T. McCain Humanitarian Award in 2001.
Judge Taylor has served on several committees in her community to include the Sumter County Alliance of Law Enforcement, Sumter County Chamber of Commerce, Young Lawyer's Domestic Violence Committee, Board of Directors of the American Red Cross, Board of Directors of the United Way, the South Carolina Bar Foundation and the Mid-Carolina Commission on Higher Education. Judge Taylor is a member of Mt. Pisgah African Methodist Episcopal Church. She sings on the Gospel Choir, serves as a Steward.
In her free time, Judge Taylor enjoys reading, movies and gardening. She aspires to become a Master Gardener upon her retirement.

Chapman Evans graduated in 2000 from the College of Charleston with a Bachelor
of Arts degree in Political Science, with a minor in Philosophy. She then
obtained her JD from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2003.
Brooke is a founding member of Evans & Turnblad, LLC in Florence, where she
focuses primarily on domestic litigation and serves as a Guardian ad Litem.
After
law school, Brooke served as Circuit Court law clerk to the Honorable John C.
Few, now Justice of the South Carolina Supreme Court. Upon completing her
clerkship, Brooke entered private practice in Greenville and remained there
until returning home to Florence in 2011. Brooke serves on the Executive
Committee of the Florence County Bar Association, is a member of the South

C. Vance Stricklin, Jr., was elected to fill the unexpired term of the Honorable Dorothy Mobley Jones in February 2020 and sworn in on March 24, 2020. He is a former partner in the Moore Taylor Law Firm, P.A. and served two years as the managing partner. His practice focused primarily on family law, including domestic litigation. Prior to private practice, he was an Assistant Public Defender, primarily representing juveniles in Family Court. He has been practicing in the Family Courts for over 25 years.
A Dreher High School graduate, Judge Stricklin graduated from Winthrop College with a double major in Political Science and Philosophy/Religion, and in 1994, graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law.
He has served as the Past President of the Lexington County Bar, and Past Chair of the South Carolina Bar Family Law Section Counsel. He was a member of the South Carolina Bar Family Law Section Council, South Carolina Supreme Court Docket Task Force, and was the co-chair for the South Carolina Bar Family Law Section Council's Subcommittee on Alimony. Judge Stricklin also served for several years as a member of the Lexington County Public Defender Board, and was a long-time member of the South Carolina Association of Justice.
Over the years, he was named several times as one of the Midlands Legal Elite by the Columbia Business Monthly magazine and has been selected by his peers as one of the Super Lawyers by Super Lawyer magazine for multiple years. Judge Stricklin is a frequent speaker at Continuing Legal Education seminars on the topic of family law.

Mary Goodwin
M. J. Goodwin has practiced law in Anderson County, South Carolina for 28 years. Ms. Goodwin began her career as an Assistant Solicitor. Megan Dell
Megan Dell is a South Carolina native, and a graduate of the College of Charleston and the Charleston School of Law. In 2011, she began her solo practice in Conway, South Carolina, and then returned to Charleston in 2013.
While in law school, Megan served as a volunteer guardian ad litem. She also clerked for the Charleston County Family Court and a local family law firm, and volunteered for the Federal Public Defender. She was the founding Editor-in-Chief of Resolved: Journal of Alternative Dispute Resolution, an Editor for the Federal Courts Law Review, and Chair of the Honor Council.
Megan practices exclusively in the Family Courts of South Carolina. She is a certified guardian ad litem for private custody and adoption cases, and these cases make up approximately one-third of her practice.
Megan is regularly invited to speak at continuing legal education seminars on family law topics. Melissa Buckhannon

Judge Buckhannon received her Bachelor
of Science degree from Francis Marion University in 1991. She received her
Juris Doctor degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law in

school, she served as a law clerk to the Honorable James E. Lockemy. Thereafter, she moved to Horry County to

Judge Buckhannon served on the Board of
Trustees for Francis Marion University from 1998 until 2013. She received the Francis Marion University
Alumni Association Professional Industry Achievement Award in 2017 for Public
Service and Law. She received an Honorary Doctorate Degree from Francis Marion
University in December 2017.
Judge Buckhannon is a member of the
Chief Justice’s Commission on the Profession, and serves on the Family Court
Judges Advisory Committee. She is a founding member and President of the South
Carolina Family Law American Inn of Court.
Judge Buckhannon serves as the Chair for the Family Court New Judge’s
Training Team. Judge Buckhannon also

Judge Michèle Patrão Forsythe is a first-generation American, and the only child of Joseph Lopes Patrão and Maria Lilia Almeida Lopes Patrão. She was born in the Ironbound District of Newark, New Jersey and moved to Washington D.C. at the age of 4. Judge Forsythe speaks fluent Spanish and Portuguese and is proficient in French.
Judge Forsythe graduated from the University of Maryland Baltimore County with a B.A. in Political Science, and a Minor in International Affairs in 1996. During her college years, she was a student at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, in Mexico City. Judge Forsythe served as an intern to The White House in 1995; and as an intern to The United States Senate in 1995 and 1996. Upon graduation, she commenced working as an assistant to United States Senator, Paul Sarbanes of Maryland; and was subsequently recruited as an Analyst with the Department of Defense, and assigned to Fort Meade, Maryland.
In 1998, Judge Forsythe married Charles Robert (“Rob”) Forsythe (The Citadel, Class of 1996), and moved to South Carolina. She attended the University of South Carolina School of Law, where she was the Publication Editor for the South Carolina Environmental Law Journal and commenced practicing law in 2003. In 2006, Judge Forsythe became an associate attorney with Query Sautter Gliserman & Price, LLC. In 2008 she was certified as a South Carolina Family Court Mediator. Judge Forsythe tried numerous cases in the Family Court, the Court of Common Pleas, and the Court of General Sessions. She also practiced in the United States District Court and has appeared before the Fourth Circuit of the United States Court of Appeals. In 2012, she was named partner, and the firm became known as Query Sautter Forsythe, LLC.
Judge Forsythe is a member of the James L. Petigru Inn of Court, serving as its Secretary from 2009 to 2015. She was honored to serve as member of the Executive Committee of the Charleston County Bar Association from 2013 to 2016 and was the CLE Co-Chair of the Charleston County Bar Association, coordinating the Annual “What Works for Me” CLE. Judge Forsythe served on the South Carolina Bar House of Delegates, the Practice and Procedure Committee, and the Wellness Committee for the South Carolina Bar. She also participated in the Ask-A-Lawyer Program. Currently, Judge Forsythe is the Chair of the Language Access Task Force for the South Carolina Supreme Court's Access to Justice Commission.
Judge Forsythe has volunteered in a variety of community outreach programs, including teaching English at Our Lady of Mercy Outreach Center on Johns Island. Judge Forsythe frequently served as pro bono counsel to the local law enforcement community and to several local charter schools.
In February of 2016, she was elected by the South Carolina General Assembly to serve as a South Carolina Family Court Judge. Judge Forsythe lives in Charleston with her husband and son. She attends The Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist in Charleston. Judge Forsythe is a fitness enthusiast, avid reader of history, and enjoys traveling with her family.

Judge Timothy H Pogue is a native Kentuckian. He received his primary and high school education in the public school system in northern Kentucky. He attended the University of Kentucky and received his B.A. in History in 1973 and thereafter attended and received his J.D. Degree from the University of Kentucky School of Law in 1976. He is a member of the Kentucky and South Carolina Bar Associations.
After graduating from Law School, Judge Pogue moved to Marion, South Carolina in August of 1976. He was a partner with Derrick and Pogue, P.A. until September 1985 when he opened his solo practice of law. He was a general practitioner in Marion until his election to the Family Court Bench in February 2008.
Judge Pogue has been married to his wife, Deborah for 41 years and has two children; Bradley who is an Assistant Solicitor for the 11th Circuit, and Allison who is the Administrative Assistant for the Honorable Larry B. Hyman, Jr. Circuit Court Judge At-Large. He is also the proud grandfather of Lander Edward Pogue who just had his 2nd birthday last week.
