About the Speakers
Kevin M. Barth practices law with the Florence law firm of Barth, Ballenger, and Lewis, LLP. He graduated Clemson University in 1979 and finished USC Law School in 1982. From 1982-1983, he was a law clerk to Honorable Ralph King Anderson, Jr. and since then has been in private practice in Florence, with a trial practice emphasis on Plaintiff's personal injury litigation and Family Court litigation. For much of his career, his practice also involved the trial of numerous criminal cases in State and Federal Court.
Kevin has spoken at numerous CLE's on ADR, Ethics in the practice of law, Ethics for Arbitrators and Mediators and on various litigation issues. He has also been lead trial counsel in numerous cases that have resulted in settlements or verdicts in excess of $1,000,000.00, and was co-trial counsel in a Federal Court case that recently resulted in a verdict in excess of $237,000,000.00. For the past four years, he has been named a Super Lawyer in South Carolina, and for 2011 was chosen as one of the Top 25 Attorneys in South Carolina. For the past five years, Kevin has been named one of the Top 100 Trial Lawyers in America by the National Trial Lawyers.
Kevin is also the President/owner of a wooden bat summer league baseball team known as the Florence Red Wolves.
Brendan Barth was born and raised in Florence, South Carolina. He attended Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina, and graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Economics in 2006.
Brendan attended the Charleston School of Law and graduated magna cum laude in 2009. While in law school, he served as an Articles Editor for the Charleston Law Review.
Upon his graduation from law school, Brendan accepted a Federal Clerkship with the Honorable R. Bryan Harwell, United States District Judge, in Florence, South Carolina. He clerked for Judge Harwell from October of 2009 until April of 2012.
Since May of 2012, Brendan has practiced extensively in the trial courts of South Carolina. Brendan focuses his practice on Family Law, Personal Injury, and Criminal Defense, including both State and Federal offenses.
