About the Seminar
Join the Consumer Law Section for Protecting Consumers in a Pandemic and 2021 Consumer Law Developments. After a short introduction to the latest developments, Kelly Rainsford with SC Department of Consumer Affairs will provide insight how the leveraging of resources leads to more comprehensive solutions in education, examinations, investigations, and enforcement matters. The presentation will focus on a variety of cases from pawnshops to pre-needs to multi-million dollar companies. Following will be a discussion on COVID-19’s effect on foreclosures and evictions in South Carolina – (1) Where we started as an economy going into 2020; (2) What happened with the initial wave of COVID orders and how those affected foreclosures and evictions in SC; (3) What new practices and procedures do attorneys have to ensure to comply with when completing a foreclosure or eviction; (4) Where we are now with COVID orders and how foreclosures and evictions are progressing; (5) What is on the horizon for foreclosures and evictions moving forward into 2021. You don’t want to miss the last presentation with Deanne Koll, Becoming a Happy Lawyer without Finding Work-Life Balance. Traditional tips for managing work-life balance are not practical for the practicing attorney, and Ms. Koll will break down the facts, the research and strategies.
