About the Seminar
The SC Bar-CLE Division and the South Carolina Fellows of The American College of Trial Lawyers are proud to present a seminar designed for young practitioners and veteran lawyers who have a desire to understand the rules and protocols for practicing law in South Carolina with Civility and Professionalism.

Panel No. 1 will discuss civility in the day-to-day practice of a litigator, its importance in building a practice and reputation, and its intersection with the Rules of Professional Conduct.

Panel No. 2 will analyze an actual case where a South Carolina federal judge issued discovery sanctions in the amount of almost $1 million. To discuss the case will be the two lawyers involved in the actual case, and the federal judge who issued the sanctions and her rationale for doing so.

Panel 3 will address the Rules of Professional Conduct, where unethical conduct in discovery can result in lawyer reprimands, and civility and ethical issues that are peculiar to criminal practice.
